Site Suggestions

  • Make the Icebox app stop installing the Icebox addon, many of us don't like that behavior.
  • Integrate the data of the Wall of Shame with oQueue.
  • Customize our profile (add signature, BattleTag, etc).
  • The staff to post in another color (like MVP's green in the official forums) to differentiate them from the rest of us mortals.
  • After replying to a post, if there is a new page, jump to it instead (I just noticed after posting this).
  • An option to sort our characters on our profile. I particularly like to sort my characters by which one hit the level cap first, then level (high to low).

1)

Agreed with SackoFrito 08/11/14 12:20 am, please make solidice addons easier to find. Currently I have found them by searching for addons starting with the letter o (not case sensitive): http://solidice.com/downloads/world-of-warcraft/starts-with/o

I was really expecting them to be on the front page of the site, or the front page of the WoW section of the site.

2)

As I was reading the forum trying to figure out which timestamp belonged to SackoFrito's post, I realized that the color of the post and the timestamp are different, so it is non-obvious which timestamp (above or below) goes with which comment.

3) This one is even more subjective than the other two, but would be nice if the new release dicussion thread were more prominently linked somehwere (maybe in the changelog? or on the addon page? or stickied in the forum instead of pushed off the front page by other threads?)

Thank you for the suggestions potatoe.

All 3 of these are valid and I will work on incorporating them into the site.

For the post timestamps, would you say that the color should be the same as the posts themselves, or would you also suggest that the location of the timestamps needs to be moved? (Moved to where would be the question).

My initial thought was that alternating colors between posts is fine, but the timestamp should color the same as the post it belongs to.

Another way to do it might be to have some kind of thick border outline that groups the timestamp and the post and allows you to colorize them differently e.g. http://imgur.com/G0pNZ5S

Also,

4) is there a way to get notifications on threads?

5) It's hard to find a list of posts I have made (so I can manually open them up and look for replies). I found a list by clicking on my name in a thread.

However, I was not able to find such a link through my "profile" page https://solidice.com/users/profile or "author dashboard" https://solidice.com/users/dashboard

6) The featured downloads on the homepage https://solidice.com/ look nice. I "Keyclone" didn't come up in my search earlier because it doesn't start with the letter o. When I click on Keyclone to read the description, the description is blank. http://solidice.com/downloads/windows/keyclone So I can only guess what it does or why I would want to download it.

Keyclone is a piece of software that lets you multibox WoW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ev7wuPSkl0

^Warning, video SUPER old lol.

Ive been pondering a "notifications" like system. Or allowing users to subscribe to threads and receive emails or onsite mail about new replies to their threads.

Maybe you'd be able to pick your poison as far as being notified on site or via email.

Maybe you'd be able to pick your poison as far as being notified on site or via email.

This. Check box for both options, can choose either or both.

This could include an e-mail option for onsite mail as well. Like if someone sends you a PM you can get an e-mail notification.

I'd prefer to receive my notifications via the site, although others may prefer by email or both.

Notifications when a favorited addon (or application like Icebox or Keyclone) gets an update would be nice.

How about something like "my favorite addons" which could be found on your personal part of the site (like where your characters and messages are?

Each addon can have a box to click on to "add" to your favorites.

Ideally when you look at your favorites you should be able to see what version you last DLed and what the current is for a quick glance if your addons are out of date. I assume icebox does this sort of thing for you but it would be for people who don't want to use icebox.

we're seeing quite a bit of forum spam recently..

1) we need a report spam button for forum posts

2) add a mandatory captcha for posting for all users with less than 10 forum posts OR less than a two weeks old account
