Can someone explain Karma?

I've been using OQ for a while now, and I've been noticing that at random times I'll get messages saying I've lost a karma point or gained a karma point. I recently found out how to see how much karma i have (on my current pvp toon I have 8), but what is it for? What does it do?

How do you grant karma or remvoe a karma point from someone?

Is it visible by others?

I tried browsing through this site for answers, but all I found was a post about were to see karma points (which is why I already know that and don't have to ask)

Karma goes across your bnet account so if one character has it they all have it.

I know you can see leader's karma when you search for groups (also indicated by the leader's name in green or red) and hover over their name and I suspect you can view/add/subtract karma via the premade tab if you are in a group but I haven't been able to confirm (I haven't ever used it).

Karma is a system which tries to promote some accountability by group members and group leaders.

You can give +/- karma to your entire group by using the ying / yang symbol on the top left of the addon. You can also give karma to individual persons by opening the log (shown by the scroll icon on the top left), and right clicking a persons name to get the sub menu. You can also give karma by right clicking a persons portrait or square on the premade tab while in a oQueue group.

Your karma amount will be shown when you waitlist for a group, and when you create groups. Karma will also modify the color of your name as displayed in oQueue. As you approach +25 karma, your name will become green. As you approach -25 karma, your name will become red.

Every day you degrade 1 karma point. If today you have +15 karma, tommorow you will have +14 karma. If you have -13 karma today, tommorow you will have -12 karma.

Once you reach 0 karma the automatic degration will stop.

Karma is that op thing monks do to direct ALL of your burst back at you and its on a one minute cd

Thank you ron for explaining this rather thouroughly!

At least now those random messages saying that i've gained karma have some sort of meaning to me.
