OQ chat channels showing up with gibberish

Hi there. I'm reasonably new to using OQ, so forgive me if this is a silly question. I've done some searching but can't find a fix to this.

I've been trying to join the chat channels to assist in finding a PUG raid. However, when I join either OQChannel or OQGeneral, the chat comes up as complete gibberish. Here is an example of what I'm seeing (imgur link.)

Now what I was expecting was to find people advertising for their groups. I asked a couple people who were advertising, but they told me they hadn't been posting in the channel. So what's up with this?

I've gone through the OQ setup to make sure everything looks right and I've uninstalled/reinstalled the add-on with no luck. Am I just completely misunderstanding what should be happening in the chat channels?

Thanks for any feedback. :)

that's not gibberish. that's addon data and it's supposed to look that way. you're not supposed to view the channel yourself.

The channel is not meant to be read by humans directly, it is a data channel used internally by the addon for communicating automatically with other oQueue addon users on the same realm. You don't need to enable viewing it in the chat box.

The data from the realm channel is combined with the data received via the Battle.Net system and is displayed in the main window of the addon as a list of premades.

looking at oqgeneral is like looking at the matrix code instead of the hot blonde in the red dress

Hi there,

Thanks so much for answering my silly question. That makes sense.

I'm just wondering though, does OQ have a chat channel you can use to find groups (kind of like a LookingForGroup or Trade for OQ users?) Or is it just the add-on interface to create/join premades?

Thanks again,

Popcorn

just the addon interface is enough... the addon takes care of the premades that you create and re-announces them on the realm and on BattleNet data channels automatically.
